John Summerville

The Lord brought John into TWR in 1988. John’s ministry is to share with people in the U.S. what God is accomplishing through TWR and to invite them to join. 

From 1988 to 2005, John served as TWR’s director of Special Events doing fundraising banquets, choir tours with two different choirs from Germany, Steve Green concerts, a traveling drama presentation about TWR, and a major donor retreat called the President’s Forum.

John remembers, “When I first joined TWR, I had the opportunity to travel around our country with many of the godly men and women who were absolutely instrumental in building TWR during its formative years and whose shoulders we stand on today, including the founder, Dr. Paul Freed.” 

In the early 2000s, John was asked to spearhead a new department called Stewardship Representatives, in which TWR reps would call TWR donors and specifically pray with them. Then in 2005, John was invited to step into the role of director of Radio Partnerships.

The Lord has grown and blessed the Radio Partnerships Department under John’s leadership, allowing TWR the privilege of partnering with more than 50 Christian radio stations and networks around the U.S.  “Our radio friends are very special to me,” John says, “and through these special radio friends, our goal is to inspire U.S. radio listeners to join God at work through TWR.”
